The winners of the 2013 'Elsevier Foundation Awards for Early Career Women Scientists in the Developing World' talk about their challenges and inspiration. The awards were presented by OWSD, TWAS and the Elsevier Foundation in February at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
2013 Call for applications for OWSD Fellowships
Postgraduate fellowships are offered to female scientists by the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). Deadline for applications: 31 July 2013.
Kuwait Amir welcomes women scientists
24 April 2013. The Amir of Kuwait, Al-Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, opened a conference of women scientists and engineers Sunday with an expression of "deep regard for the women's place in the hierarchy with men toward sustainable development."
TWAS, Lenovo announce major new science prize
22 April 2013. TWAS and Lenovo, the Chinese multinational computer hardware and electronics company, are launching the TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize to give international recognition to research breakthroughs by individual scientists from developing countries. The deadline for nominations is 10 June.
