Background
OWSD is the first international forum to unite eminent women scientists from the developing and developed worlds with the objective of strengthening their role in the development process and promoting their representation in scientific and technological leadership.
Constitution
The TWOWS "Constitution" was first adopted in Trieste on 21 March 1989 , with the most recent revision ratified on 29 June 2010.
Beijing Statement
At the close of the Fourth General Assembly of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSDW) [formerly Third World Organization for Women in Science (TWOWS)] held in Beijing, China, 27-30 June 2010, those present issued the following statement on behalf of the organization's more than 3,000 women members and women scientists everywhere.
