The TWOWS "Constitution" was first adopted in Trieste on 21 March 1989 , with the most recent revision ratified on 29 June 2010.
The TWOWS "Constitution" was adopted in Trieste on 21 March 1989 and ratified at the First General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt, in January 1993. It was further ratified with amendments at the Second General Assembly in Cape Town, South Africa, in February 1999.
On June 29, 2010, revised Statutes for the Organization were ratified at the Fourth General Assembly in Beijing, China. The most notable change was the adoption of a new name, Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSDW).
