Activities
OWSD has developed a range of activities to fulfil its objectives and is in the process of developing a number of programs for 2011-12, in line with its Strategic Plan.
Postgraduate Training Fellowships
Postgraduate Training Fellowships for Women Scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDC) at Centres of Excellence in the South. The Fellowship is offered to women scientists to pursue postgraduate research in a field of the natural sciences. Deadline for applications: extended to 14 August 2011.
OWSD Prizes
OWSD Prizes have been established to recognize women scientists working and living in developing countries who have made significant contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
2010 TWOWS Awardees
26 young women from developing countries were awarded a TWOWS Postgraduate Fellowship in 2010
Ninety-three Graduates Since 1998
Through its Postgraduate Training Fellowship programme, OWSDW has so far helped 93 young women students to earn their degrees.

Organized by: the Gender Advisory Board, United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world, with funding from the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida).
