Membership Info
OWSD is the first international forum to unite eminent women scientists from the South with the objective of strengthening their role in the development process and promoting their representation in scientific and technological leadership.
Full Membership is open to women scientists or technologists who have completed a master-degree or higher in the sciences, engineering or related fields and who are committed to the objectives of the Organization, from the developing and developed worlds. Currently there are over 4,000 members.
Associate Membership comprises scientists, technologists and scholars who have completed a master-degree or higher at a recognized university and who are committed to the objectives of the Organization.
Affiliate Members are women scientists or technologists who have completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the sciences, engineering or related fields and who are committed to the objectives of the Organization.
In 2011, the OWSD Executive Board agreed to the following voluntary membership fees:
- Full Members: US$ 20 per year
- Associate Members: US$ 10 per year
- Affiliate Members: US $10 per year
